From Thought-Locked to Quick-Witted

Jun 13, 2025

Quick wittedness comes with the right practice and the right knowledge. period.

If you struggle to craft solid sentences in real-time, you need to work on your mind's ability to take in information, process it, and produce a response.

If you struggle with formulating sentences in your friend group, or you often find yourself having a thought at the forefront of your mind yet can’t craft a full sentence. We have a couple exercises for you.

  • Note: If your thought locked because your are nervous. Please see this article.

Exercise 1

This exercise will help your brain recall and process information. It's a simple exercise. Get a dictionary—we recommend "Remember 1,600 Vocabulary Words: Use Mnemonics." Each day, write down ten words on vocabulary cards. Split the deck in half and memorize every word and definition WORD FOR WORD. Don't just understand the essence of the word—you must be able to recite every word of the definition before moving the card to the "done" pile. Start by memorizing the first five cards, then the second five, then review all ten together. Do this every day for a couple of months, and you'll notice your quick-thinking ability has improved.

Exercise 2

This exercise focuses on crafting clear, descriptive sentences. Each day, read 2–3 articles and write a summary paragraph about each one. This exercise will train your brain to organize and express information coherently.

Exercise 3

Spend 10 minutes each day practicing with Suade's roleplaying AI. Focus on maintaining rhythmic banter while formulating clear points that naturally guide the conversation toward closing.

Exercise 4

Every day, watch 2–3 YouTube videos of successful cold callers to see how they operate. This will help you learn proven conversation techniques and develop your own style.

Quick wittedness also comes from experience. The more you come across certain objections the better you’ll be able to overcome them. This is also why our role playing AI can help you practice on artificial prospects, not real ones.

Being Quick witted and a quick thinker is extremely important on sales calls. If you’re banter is off pace you’ll come off as not worth it. Contrary to modern belief your pace does not have to match your prospects. In a cold call its perfectly fine to set your own pace. When the prospect answers, stay calm, and follow YOUR plan, not matter what. (Even if you get punched in the face ;).

Stay strong out there!
